Service Description

A full-day dog sculpting workshop with Kate Lowe at The Potter’s Nook. Spend the day getting creative with clay and learn how to sculpt your very own characterful dog. Whether you want to recreate your own beloved dog, capture a favourite breed, or simply have a go at creating a dog with plenty of personality, Kate will guide you through the entire sculpting process from start to finish. With her experience in clay sculpture, Kate will break the process down into manageable stages, showing you how to build the form, create realistic proportions, capture those all-important features and add the details that bring your sculpture to life. You’ll work with high-quality clay and professional sculpting tools, with plenty of individual guidance and demonstrations throughout the day. No previous sculpting experience is needed, but previous hands-on clay experience is beneficial. Kate’s relaxed, supportive teaching style means complete beginners can enjoy the process, while more experienced makers can develop their skills further. Want to sculpt your own dog? Bring along plenty of clear photographs showing your dog from different angles. If you’d rather sculpt a particular breed, you can bring reference photographs of your chosen breed instead. The day 10am–4pm With a one-hour lunch break By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own unique clay dog sculpture and learned the techniques to continue developing your sculpting skills.
